First Time Ordering Middle Eastern Food? Shawarma vs Falafel, Explained
We get a fair number of first-time customers who aren’t totally sure what to order, especially if this is their first time trying Middle Eastern food. So here’s the plain breakdown.
Shawarma — for the meat eaters
Thinly sliced, marinated meat — chicken, beef, or lamb — slow-roasted on a vertical rotisserie and shaved fresh as it cooks. We wrap it warm in pita with garlic sauce and vegetables, or you can get it on a bowl over rice if you’d rather skip the bread.
If you’ve never had it, start with the chicken shawarma wrap. It’s the most approachable flavour for a first try and it’s what most of our regulars started with too.
Falafel — for vegetarians, or just because it’s good
Falafel is deep-fried chickpea and herb patties, crispy outside and soft inside. It’s fully vegetarian and we make it fresh, not from a frozen pre-made mix, which actually makes a real difference in texture. Pairs especially well with our tahini drizzle.
Can’t decide? Get both
Our build-your-own bowl lets you do shawarma and falafel together, so you’re not stuck picking one. It’s genuinely the easiest way to try everything on a first visit without committing to a single dish.
