Thanksgiving in Elmira: Why Shawarma Platters Make Hosting Easier
Thanksgiving weekend in Elmira means full houses. Cousins drive in from Kitchener, neighbours stop by, and the kids will not sit through a four-course dinner. Plenty of families still roast a turkey, but more hosts are adding a second, easier spread. Some skip the oven entirely for one of the days.
Why shawarma platters fit a holiday table
Shawarma platters arrive ready to serve. You get sliced chicken or beef shawarma, seasoned rice, fresh salad, hummus, garlic sauce and warm pita. Guests build their own plates, so picky eaters, big eaters and vegetarians (falafel) all find something. You don’t have to cook three separate dishes.
Halal without the guesswork
All our meats are halal. If some of your guests eat halal, you can order once and put one spread on the table. Nobody has to ask “can I eat this?”
Easy to transport
Hosting on Saturday and visiting family on Monday? A platter is one less dish to cook at 7 a.m. It travels well, and the leftovers reheat nicely the next day.
How to order for Thanksgiving Monday, October 12
Tell us how many adults and kids you’re feeding and how long the gathering will run. We’ll suggest the right mix of chicken, beef, falafel and sides. For smaller gatherings we recommend ordering 5–7 days ahead, and about two weeks for large events, so this week is the time to book.
